Figuring into Abstraction. A retrospective exhibition on Florencio B. Concepcion. Hi! - Europe Calling. An exhibit by the German Embassy Manila. Opening by the German Ambassador, Dr. Axel Weishaupt. Fifty years after the signing of the Treaty of Rome, the European Union has come a long way. In particular, it has achieved its original goal to secure long-term peace in Europe, as war within the EU has become all but inconceivable. Many citizens are now asking why the association of states which is the European Union is still necessary in the 21st century. "Hi! - Europe Calling" answers this question by highlighting some of the fields in which European integration has brought international results.
