Artis Corpus Gallery and Sining Kamalig opened a timely exhibition entitled PITONG SALITA: Paalala sa Bagong Administrasyon, featuring seven artists from the University of Santo Tomas: Dominique Alfonso, Darylle Cajucom, Kevin Fernandez, Luis Hernandez, Jay Jamoralin, JR Urao, and Michael Zacarias.

The show is currently on view at the Sining Kamalig: an art gallery, located at Level 4 Gateway Mall, Araneta Center, Cubao, Quezon City. The show ends on 30 June. The public is cordially invited. Entrance is free.

Here are a few words from the curator of the Hot Air Balloon exhibit.  This will be on April 12 until May 5, 2010 at Sining Kamalig: an art gallery Oasis Side of Level 4, The Gateway Mall Araneta Center , Cubao, Quezon City.

Featured Artists are Kevin Cerda, Ivan Elpa, Jacob Lindo, John Marin, Gene Paul Martin and Erick Villarruz.

This is exactly what I had been crying about all the while: that you need not have to quote somebody else to sound intellectual or well-researched about something. But the temptation was really so great that I had to swallow a little pride and added this extremely powerful quotation from the cockiest of all French poets. Reviewing everything that happened before this current exhibition, the two lines are indeed so relevant. In celebration of the National Arts Month, Sining Kamalig will feature the works of the University of the Philippines (Diliman) CFA Studio Arts Batch of 1989 in ” Reunion”, their get-together show from February 22-March 14, 2010.

After twenty long years, the batch mates decided to show their passion for the arts by staging an exhibit. Instead of having a regular reunion over beer and chips, they opted to get hold of their muses, sit down in their studios, and showcase their latest works to the public like true artists (still with beer and chips). This exhibition is symbolic of their unwavering fervor in sharing their talent and craftsmanship with one another and the world. Although some have pursued other careers, they continued creating works of art.
