Philippine Fashion Week, the country’s premier fashion and lifestyle event, ushered in the next generation of young Filipino design talent as the School of Fashion and the Arts (SoFA) marked its first ever graduation with a runway show featuring the notable works of this year’s graduating batch.

Comprised of Cassie Revereza, Melanie Lim, Kaye Morales, Fold Canela, Charinson Balalilhe, Mark Tamayo, Noelle Llave, Mikka Hernandez and Kim Palma, SoFA’s fresh stash of emerging talents brought new energy to the forefront of fashion as each designer showcased his or her own unique vision on the runway, as witnessed by key industry personalities, members of the press and families and friends.

“This is a celebration of SoFA’s commitment to nurturing creativity and passion for the arts, and most importantly, securing a bright future for our young and promising designers. It is our hope that this show will give them the much needed boost as they break into the local fashion scene,” said SoFA Communications and Admissions Director Amina Aranaz-Alunan.

Azure Urban Resort Residences, the country’s first true urban residential resort community by dynamic real estate firm Century Properties, formally opened the doors of its spectacular showroom at the Pacific Star Building, Makati on April 16 with a grand launch party and a fashion show of the hottest summer creations by top designers Rosanna Ocampo, Charina Sarte and Hindy Weber-Tantoco.

Designer brands French Dolls, Satin and Ropa together with Private Key Events held a sizzling fashion show last November 25, 2009 at the Ascend Ultralounge at The Fort. Fronting over 40 models and celebrities, guests were treated with the hottest in both swimwear and casual wear. Ms. Jacq Yu together with Aubrey Miles, Sherilyn Reyes, Alicia Mayer, Bernadette Alysson, Maricar De Mesa, Lara Morena, Jacqueline Yllana and more celebrities  and models shared their time for this worthy cause. Boracay accomodations and Cruise packages were given as game and raffle prizes care of the generous event sponsors.
