East Meets West Celebrations

February 1st, in Editor's Note by Jan Raymond Conadera

February 2010 starts with a double celebration: Chinese New Year and Valentine Day fall on the same day, the 14th. Can you imagine how the different establishments will prepare for this day?

Without a doubt, these various bars, clubs and restaurants will come up with some unique party concepts that will marry these two auspicious occasions. I believe that on this date, it would be awesome to be up and about and be in a frenzy.

Here are some checklists from Circuit team for those partying on the 14th of February:

  • Make sure that you plan ahead and book your reservations in advance.
  • Expect slow moving traffic in densely populated areas on the Big Red Letter Day. Ergo, find alternate routes early.
  • Parking can be quite a hassle so keep your cool when looking for the next available slot.
  • Check out the coolest treats and unique themes that establishments have to offer.
  • Make sure you log on to www.circuitmag.net or stay tuned to Circuit TV (Wednesdays, 8:30PM on Skycable Channel 25) and Circuit Radio (Thursdays, 8AM on Jam 88.3) for the freshest…

Big In December

December 1st, in Editor's Note by Jan Raymond Conadera

Every time I order from a fast food chain, the counter person would always ask me ” Sir, would you like to upsize your order?” This December, the Circuit team asks you ” Would you like to upsize your celebrations?”

We encourage you this holiday season to have an extra-large blast and upgrade your giving this month. Let’s make it more memorable than previous years. Do something different or unusual this season. You can lend a helping hand and allot some time to charity. Start now by being the “bigger person” who is more understanding and compassionate. Eventually, this exciting perspective will pave the way for bigger and brighter things to come.

But of course, you have to reward yourself too for all that effort. Be the person to jumpstart the merry activities amongst your friends and family. Be the first to give the presents or organize the Christmas parties or plan the long weekend holiday.

This issue, Circuit Breaker suggests gifts that would unleash the uniqueness for your dear loved ones. Flip out the Grid for a…

Cover Reportage: Mika’s Six-crets

October 7th, in Editor's Note, Features by Apryl Galang

Our October cover girl needs no further introduction since she has become such a familiar face in the fashion and beauty scene. Undoubtedly, Mikaela Lagdameo has probably grown up right before our eyes.  From becoming a favorite teen magazine cover girl to a sophisticated lady gracing numerous campaigns here and abroad, she has definitely bagged it all.

At 24, she has reached the top peak of her career and a fulfilling personal life.  What more can a girl ask for?  Definitely, she isn’t the type who would be content on whatever she has already achieved. Instead, she’s an eager beaver soul setting her sights on conquering new heights and improving her craft.

The Circuit Team got to know Mika and her top Six-crets during our cover shoot.  We’re amazed with what we have discovered about her.

1. How did you start into modeling? “I started at 15, which was really by accident. It was never something I thought I would do. I was spotted at a teen magazine anniversary party, they asked to do an editorial. At the…

As early as September, we have gathered new items that will storm the shelves of your favorite stores; items that you wish will also end up in your racks as well.  Check out our Circuit Breaker section where we give you a guide to your ‘must-haves’. Hopefully, this will be a time-worthy wait for the much-anticipated Christmas season or if you really can’t resist, go ahead and grab these hot items as the holiday spirit jumpstarts.

Our September issue also updates you on what’s the buzz at The Fort area. These two new hot spots will surely make a big impact in the area by adding more electricity to the district. We just hope that traffic in the parking area is managed properly especially during the 2AM curfew limit unless they extend the party hours to spare everyone from the parking exodus.

Unfold The Grid and check out what and who is rocking in your neighborhood. We want to hear more from you, shout…
