Orange you glad, its still summer!

Round three of the thirty-yet rising temperature for the season.  To most of us, May is the tail end of summer however this doesn’t mean the fun stops.  Allow Celsius to lift the wacky and wicked side of you and indulge in more hedonistic outdoor activities.

May is not necessarily all about going out and basking under the sun. It is equally exciting for nocturnal tricks; Open Bar continues the roof deck crawl. While Toff’s World shares his summer OST that fits best when hosting “cook out” and stay-in celebrations as Meet The Pack gal’s MJ provide us with different party themes and venue. While for me, I like the sunset cruises giving an awesome experience sipping cocktails while gazing the sky burst into color orange.

So far, how was your summer? You’re bound to go wild: here are our post foolish management: (1) Whatever happens, delete it from your phone; (2) think before tweeting; and (3) review your FB public setting before posting.

Or, if you’re the type who loves to take vanity photos. …

Into The Light, A Two-Man Show

Romulo Galicano, Tertulia (detail), 37 x 41 inches, oil on canvasAs part of its summer offering, Altro Mondo gallery is pleased to present two of the Philippine’s most noteworthy figurative realist painters, Romulo Galicano and Orely Ypon, in a two-man show titled Into The Light, showing from April 11 to May 10, 2013.

Into the Light features ten works from each distinguished artists, who both hail from Cebu, which showcase their talents not only in the technically demanding craft of painting, but also in the execution of conceptually challenging compositions.

In Galicano’s works like Self-Portraits, Tertulia, Bangka, and Sungkaan, the traditional subject matter set in elegant colonial surroundings is given strength by powerful tonal depiction and detailing, but updated through his trademark use of vertical stripes which modernizes Galicano’s vision of art. In the case of Ypon, the use of dramatic lighting charges his rural scenery with energy and vigor comparable to the late-19th Century works of Luna and Hidalgo. This can be seen in his Boracay series of beach scenes, or in Emergence, wherein his famous forte of depicting a mass of struggling male …

Bursting with Anticipation

This issue commands city-heat-busters by our high-heeled sorority starting with some roof-decked shindigs of Bianca Salonga and Angela Atayde. Meet Pack Industry’s MJ Cordova belts out her thirst and Melody Co indulges a quick joy ride over -night escape from the city.

And to most of us, summer is defined with extended stays, rebooked flights, hangover litany and Berrocca fizzes in our bottled water held in our hands as we keep our smiles to mask our anxiety, if we are departing from Caticlan or Kalibo -The Boracay tales are relived. Circuit Breaker has prepared the island’s tactical code to combat this awesome madness this season.

We’re also happy to announce that Circuit App is now available for FREE with your Nokia Windows 8 phone. Spontaneous night-out becomes more of a habit with its real time party notifications in your phone. No excuse to miss out the happiest happening this time.

Happy 420 to Everyone!

An Affair to Remember

ADHOC 2013With a throbbing head and hazy memory, you woke up last February 24. You try to crawl out of bed gracefully, but fall instead. On all fours, you scramble around your room until you find the golden mine in your drunken haze — the bathroom. You wet your face with water, and a little bit of memory comes back. You do it over and over again, in the hopes that each splash of water will bring with it a new wave of memory. Somehow, all it brings is one faint echo repeating itself continuously: ADHOC. ADHOC. ADHOC.

Somehow, that faint, persistent echo was all you needed. Your mind might have forgotten, but your body definitely remembers. The feeling of squished toes from a night of endless dancing, of temporary blindness from the psychedelic lights’ incessant flashing, of non-sobriety from drinking copious volumes of alcohol — everything comes crashing back. All the pieces of the puzzle reveal themselves, and it doesn’t take long for you to put them together.
