Circadian June: Your New Vice
June 1st, in Features by Jan Raymond Conadera, 1 Comment
Now, this is particularly interesting. Think tattoos plus cappuccino minus the thugs. And it’s just around the corner (that is if you’re in Makati). Vice Coffee and Ink will change the way you think of tattoo shops. It’s a bangin’, new café-slash-tattoo-hub that might event ignite your interest on getting inked.
A brainchild of tattoo enthusiasts Raoul Olbes and David Rapaport, this less than four-month-old coffee and tattoo shop is definitely setting a new trend in terms of the set-up and ambience. Since getting inked nowadays has become a statement, they envisioned their place to be as inviting and comfy as possible to attract more people. As the two puts it, “People who come here are either impressed or suddenly get interested.” Who wouldn’t be?
Their mini studio for the tattoo sessions boasts of cleanliness as showed in the sleek stacks of ink materials, supplies, stencils and other machineries. The owners make sure that their services comply with strict sanitary measures (read: Vice is DOH affiliated). Take note, they’ve got four tattoo artists (three male and a…
Mooon Café brings up the heat!
June 1st, in Features by Jan Raymond Conadera
There’s always one question gnawing away at the back of a frequent traveler’s mind: Where’s the next best place to eat?
Mooon Café would be a “thumbs up” tip from many locals. Most regarded for its distinct, off-the-hook food at peso-worthy prices, Mooon Café has successfully stood out among a bushel of Cebuano restaurants gambling their way up to win the urbane and finicky Cebu market.
This popularity most likely started with the amusing Mexican-inspired theme. You walk in and are immediately greeted by the staff in cute Mexican outfits. You look around and are pleasantly amused by the colorful paintings and fixtures. You take a deep breath and are tickled by hints of Jalapeños and the next thing you know, that sizzling meal is making its way to your table. This rare and awe-inspiring restaurant, which first started out as a nook in Guadalupe, has been delighting the Queen City diners for 11 years now.
“The core concept of Mooon Café was already well-established when our family took over its single branch from the previous owner in…
