Cebu: Vudu: A New Chapter in Cebu Clubbing

February 1st, in Features by Jan Raymond Conadera

Marking its 8th year in the business, Vudu continues to break grounds in the Queen City’s nightlife. With its constantly evolving, inventive and cutting-edge clubbing concept, this party destination has set the pace of what once was a relatively languid Cebu nightlife. Get to know the buzz behind this legendary chillout locale and how it has introduced the new age in lounging this side of the country.

The Beginning Designed and determined to be different, Vudu first opened as an upscale lounge that catered to the cosmopolitan chic set. All through the years, its was hailed as local landmark by domestic and foreign visitors. Although, this place has gone through a series of reinventions over the years, it is amazing how it has kept their set of habitués and expanded its niche market at the same time.

The Vibe After the underground explosion of the 90s fizzled; it brought about the renewal of the alternative music scene with its Alternative Nights every Wednesday. It also initiated the chill out craze with its Friday R n’ B Nights, while Saturdays were House Night parties. With this nightly offering, Vudu gave the young and hip Cebuanos every reason to go out even on weeknights, and even more reason to dress up.

What to expect Feast your eyes on various eye candy like the accents from different Cebu designers, furniture and accessory makers as well as the infamous Vudu mural by Jon Unson, an authentic Tapas menu by Chef Miguel Martinez, uniforms by Vania Romoff, and accents by Butch Carungay of Atelier Avatar.

Vudu is located at Crossroads Mall. Open daily from 5:30 PM onwards and accepts private functions, company events and exclusive parties. For inquiries, please email [email protected].
