Unveiling Reality

March 8th, in Circuit Training by Apryl Galang

Last February 26th, around three thousand college students and young professionals trooped to the World Trade Center Tent to experience another one of the UP Junior Marketing Association’s best gifts to the youth – ADHOC, the biggest college party in the Metro.

This semester, the ADHOC team took partygoers on a journey as they entered the unknown, explored beyond the grasp of their senses and embraced a new dimension with ADHOC: Unveil Reality.

A dark tunnel embellished with rope lights welcomed attendees at the entrance. Immediately noticed were the elevated DJ booth bordered by ledges at the center of the dance floor and the huge arc and LED screen on the stage at the far front. As promised, free-flowing drinks were served, and the most infectious, chart-topping R&B and Hip-Hop beats by DJ Gilette played the entire night. MC Brian too hyped up what was probably the best crowd ADHOC has seen in a while.

Staple to ADHOC is the midnight reveal, and this semester’s was truly intricate and one of a kind. Before midnight, the signature songs of previous ADHOC reveals were played. Total silence and a complete black out followed leaving the crowd puzzled. A countdown flashed on the LED screen followed by one of DJ Gilette’s videos. The LED boards then opened revealing two ledge dancers adorned in angel wings. What followed was complete celebration as the crowd went wild to Chris Brown’s Yeah 3x.

Everything that took place that night was truly of a new dimension, in particular, of a level higher than anything any student organization has ever achieved before.
