Going Artsy

Hey guys! It’s the height of summer and the temperature’s still rising you’ve done almost everything in your to-do-list like go to the beach, get that perfect tan, go on a road trip etc. It’s like you can do all this stuffs even if it’s not summer, right?

Now the dilemma, what else is there to do?

Why not bring out the artist in you!?! It’s about time for some art attack this season. Here are some ideas/tips you can pick up.

Photography:
Have you heard about those amazing Lomo cameras? It’s a real treat for all aspiring photographers because it can take artistic pictures with every shot. What’s more exciting is that you can make a gallery out of all the photos that you took and show it off to everyone.

Painting:
C’mon, don’t tell me that you can’t do it just because we practically outgrown our coloring books stage during our kiddo years. Now, it’s perfect time to bring it to a higher level. Believe me, you don’t really have to be an expert to do a painting. Just pick up a brush and paint your hearts out on that piece of canvass. You can even be more creative by jazzing-up your old clothes by painting on it. Hand painted garments are so hot this season and mind you, we can see them all over the malls.

To make your learning experience more exciting, you can also join in some groups or enroll on summer art and photography camps all over the metro. What’s nice is that you’ll gain new friends and if your lucky even meet somebody to make summer of ‘08 even hotter (wink!).

Alert the guards!

Ok, this is tragic. I just heard from my friend that her phone got snatched. She sent me a message through YM asking me for my number. Then I asked why. When I was about to tease her about not liking me anymore and maybe she erased my number. Then her message popped explaining the incident. I felt guilty. Shame on me!

Apparently, her phone got snatched outside her house. She stepped outside her car and was standing in front of the gate. She was holding her phone in one hand and her house keys on the other when a strange man appeared out of nowhere. The man grabbed her phone and started to yank it off her hand. On impulse she held on to it and started screaming.

At this point I was already rolling my eyes! Why hold on to a phone in exchange for whatever bad thing that could happen. Not worth it. She fell on the ground and got a few bumps and bruises but nothing serious. She let go of the phone when she fell. The man ran most likely super happy with his loot. It was a Motorola phone mind you. It was her favorite phone.

Thank God the man only took her phone and not her life and her car. Imagine that?!? I would’ve died from a sudden panic.

So my dear fab readers. Next time you step out of your car or you’re walking elsewhere, be alert. Look at your surroundings. Scan the place. And yes, scream your lungs out!

This will definitely call the attention of other people around you to come and help. And please…let go. Material things can always be replaced but your life. Hell no. It also helps if you know self-defense. You’ll never know when it will be handy.

Sigh. Tsk tsk tsk… too bad for her phone. But thank God she’s alright.

Gotta have ‘em

It’s the month of April once again. The sun continues to rise up in its hot intensity. Now, where in the world you’d want to be than near the waters. Yes, the ultimate getaway for this toasty season. The Sweet Life!!!!

Whew! Is it hot outside or what? I’m definitely feeling summer. But the weather is not the only thing that’s hot. I just found the latest must-haves for the season.

Dresses and skirts are all getting shorter and shorter this season. I just love stuff by Miu Miu and Gucci. They’re all coming out with a lot of fun, girly and flirty stuff. I love! Bold and bright colors are the way to go too. (Bravo!!!!)

Have you seen that orange dress being sported by Victoria Beckham? It’s crazy! I’m sure it will go super with my tan! Geometric prints are so hot for this season. And so are jumpsuits. How cute are those? It reminds me of my childhood days. Imagine me in jumpsuits and pigtails! Whoa!

As for footwear, metallic flats are to die for. I sooo love the hottest Prada sandals that has a floral design. Yes, it’s not groundbreaking though but I can just imagine the devil-ish Miranda Priestly pursing her lips. Haha. So, metallic open flats are a go for me. But still super summery! Aside from that, you can still go on enjoy the outdoors with the latest line from Crocs.

My footsie needs to breathe too (read: time for a foot spa!).

And the official choice to carry all my kikay stuff is the Cecilia purse by Marc Jacobs. Love, love the color! It’s papaya! Haha. If that doesn’t spell summer I don’t know what does! It also comes in black, if you prefer that one.

Well, just don’t forget your shades thus to protect your eye from the heat stroke of the sun. I so so so love the classic Jackie O. shades.
