Jack Daniel’s The JD Set Philippines kicks off its much-awaited first live heat in Manila. This live showcase of pure rock n’ roll happened on February 4, 2011, Friday at B-Side, The Collective, Makati. After months of screening and preparation, Jack Daniel’s finally gives the stage to the thirteen bands that made it to the Jack Daniel’s The JD Set.

The Jack Daniel’s The JD Set features the most notable underground bands in the country, namely Black Manika, Blue Boy Bites Back, Cosmic Love, Freia, Fade into Oblivion, Jack VS the Crab, Kelevra, Mr. Bones & the Boneyard Circus, Paramita, Playphonics, Paranoid City, Stories of Now and Thy Holy Water.

All thirteen bands are set to give a show of a lifetime for the Jack Daniel’s The JD Set’s first live event. Each band will play quicksets or a maximum of two songs each. Recently, Barcino opened their newest branch in Rockwell. The occasion was flocked by over 700 guests who feasted free-flowing modern Spanish tapas and wines all-night and danced until their body drops. The festive mood was notched up by the emotional dance of Nuevo Grupo Flamenco of Emma Estrada (already known because of its several shows in Barcino Greenbelt 2) and the implausible music of Nykó Maká, Tribu Manila and DJ Kristian Hernandez who kept the crowd grooving until almost dawn.
