Kiehl’s at 160

The bevy of models, stylists, beauty insiders and fashionistas who gathered for Kiehl’s vintage-themed, 160th birthday was as much a celebration of the brand’s impressive heritage as it was an evening of philanthropic revelry.

The evening, which honors a brand that spans three generations, saw Kiehl’s supporting UNICEF Philippines as a way to not only celebrate but give back to the community as well. Unveiled during the event were the redesigned packaging of one of Kiehl’s best-sellers, the Ultra Facial Cream, which features exclusively designed artworks by celebrities Gary Valenciano and Bianca Gonzales—both friends of Kiehl’s and supporters of UNICEF’s advocacy. Gary Valenciano is UNICEF Philippines Ambassador, while Bianca Gonzalez is UNICEF Philippines Special Advocate for Children.

“Kiehl’s global presence gives us a platform to make a difference on a larger scale; and for the Philippines in particular, we are very privileged to have the opportunity to collaborate with people who believe in a cause that is dear to our brand,” says Lenard Tiongson, Kiehl’s Senior Business Development Manager. “For this initiative, net proceeds of this limited edition line with artworks by Gary Valenciano and Bianca Gonzalez goes to UNICEF Philippines. Kiehl’s aims to raise PhP 100,000 in support of UNICEF’s programs for children.”

The exclusively designed packaging, which will be officially available in stores on September 1, was made available to the select few who were in attendance at the event. And being a brand that prides itself for creating products that work and for exceptional customer service, it was no surprise that amid the free-flowing drinks, trays of hors d’oeuvres and excited chatter of the guests, the Kiehl’s Testing Bar, which showcased the breadth of its products became one of the evening’s highlights.

Backed by 160 years of skin care expertise, one can only expect more from the much-loved brand.
