ITAnano Orologi, the brand which applied nano technology in making the first prototype carbon fibre-reinforced polymer (CFRP) case in 2010, is now available in Manila to offer its techy timepieces.
What’s in a name? “ITAnano” is a combination of “ITA” being derived from Italy and “nano,” which refers to the nano technology applied in the making of the watch’s carbon case.
Guided by ITAnano CEO Alessandro Baldieri’s belief that everyone has to look good, the brand combines unique materials in a rainbow of colour variations to create beauty on the wrist at affordable prices.
The evolution: In 2010, ITAnano produced the first prototype carbon fibre-reinforced polymer (CFRP) case for the ITAnano Phantom watch. The first Phantom was released into the market n 2011 and the first series production for parts came about in 2012.
The carbon case of the Phantom weighs in at 13 grams, while the entire watch – including the movement – weighs in at a mere 53 grams.
ITAnano manufactures its timepieces using Carbon Nano technology similar to that used by Lamborghini and Pagani for their carbon technology-savvy cars.
ITAnano Orologi is devoted to style, durability and affordability. It is using one of the most complex and advanced methods in the watchmaking industry and yet the company is constantly exploring innovative materials and production methods via its new Composites Research Centre.
