It is truly beautiful to see people come together for a beautiful cause.
Last August 17, 2013, the Marie France Group of Companies held a Medical Mission in Barangay Bambang, Pasig City. Now on its second year, more than 940 residents received free medical consultations, comprehensive check-ups, as well as medicine and vitamins.
Barangay Bambang residents were given consultations for general medicine, pediatrics, OB-gyne, pulmonary problems, cholesterol determination, wound care, optical check-up and ECG. Corrective lenses were given to those with reading difficulties, courtesy of Ideal Vision. Residents also received food through sponsors Gardenia and Magnolia.
Over 30 in-house doctors and 92 employee-volunteers attended the medical mission, which was initiated by the group management as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility program. Under the Marie France Group of Companies umbrella are Marie France, Facial Care Centre, Svenson and For MEN.
Brand endorsers Shalani Soledad-Romulo and Rima Ostwani, fashion blogger Lissa Kahayon and personalities Joyce Pring and Victor Pring dropped by to assist in giving out medicine care packs to the beneficiaries. Pasig City Mayor Maria Belen Eusebio was also there to show her support.
There was also an outpouring of support via social media from several endorsers, celebrities and friends. Dawn Zulueta-Lagdameo, Lara Quigaman-Alcaraz, Carlene Aguilar, Carmi Martin, RJ Ledesma, Tim Tayag, Patty Betita, Agot Isidro, Bianca Araneta-Elizalde, Amanda Griffin-Jacob, Amina Aranaz-Alunan, Valerie Weigmann, Tessa Nieto-Villalon, Ana Roces, Stephanie Zubiri-Crespi, Giselle Toengi-Walters, Joey Mead-King and our newest teen endorsers, cheer dancers Maja Reyes, Marina San Gabriel, Carla Piscoso and Erica Ambulo were among the many who posted heartfelt messages with the hashtags #mariefrancegivesback, #svensongivesback, #formengivesback and #facialcarecentregivesback.
The group successfully exceeded their target number of beneficiaries, serving over 900 when they initially expected only 800. Last year’s medical mission served 500 beneficiaries. Next year, the group looks forward to reaching out and serving more.
