Hostess Club Manila is proud to present a stellar 2-day concert event trimmed with a catalog of sounds ranging from indie rock to nu-gaze. Deemed to be one of the most significant shows of the year, the collective feel of the acts performing for two nights at SM Aura’s Samsung Hall will leave music fans in a 48-hour high. June 16 will be headlined by New York-based dream pop trio, Blonde Redhead, whose shoe gaze style evokes layers of dark-yet-icy timbres. Two acts from England will share the stage with Blonde Redhead, each offering a different flavor of sound. SOHN, a London-based solo electronic act highly rated by Pitchfork for his melodic resourcefulness and vocal brilliance; and Toy, a 5-piece psychedelic band form Brighton who bears a kaleidoscope of melodies and fuzz.
The second day will prove to be as diverse and exciting as the first one. Atlanta-born indie goddess Chan Marshall a.k.a. Cat Power will fill the venue with her music that’s bulging with emotions drifting from warm sorrow to passionate ecstasy. Joining her that night will be Mike Hadreas from Seattle or Perfume Genius, who’s known to mix baroque sensibilities with the rawness of indie chamber pop. Cloud Nothings, a noise rock trio from Cleveland, will give the night a sprightly and grungy mood.
Variety is key to a simultaneous appreciation that co-exists among fans of different genres, and it is exactly what Hostess Club Manila will deliver to those who will come out and experience this 2-day music indulgence that will happen on June 16 and 17 in SM Aura’s Samsung Hall.
